RATANGARH (RAJASTHAN)
Ratangarh is a small sized town whose population at present is aprox. 75,000.During pre-independence time, the population was aprox.35,000.
The following institutions are functioning as charitable institutions in Ratangarh, Dist. Churu(Rajasthan) and are being maintained with the help received from our charitable Trust.
1. HANUMAN PUSTAKALAY
This is one of the largest and oldest Hindi Pustakalayas in Rajaasthan having a rich collection of books. It also houses a very popular reading room having all the newspapers & periodicals and is frequented by the general public, scholars and researchers for benefit of reading newspapers and books (the reading room for daily newspapers and weekly & monthly magazines is located on the ground floor of the Tower, which is just in front of the Pustakalaya)
2. HANUMAN BALIKA VIDYALAYA
The above school was established 70 years back. At that time giving education to girls was a dream. When this school was established by Late ShriSoorajmull Jalan, the society protested and even contemplated to outcast him for giving education to girls. But the motto of late ShriSoorajmull Jalan was that every woman should be educated so that it would help her in educating her children. As such even after meeting so much of opposition and problems, he built this school. At present almost more than 800 girls are taking lessons upto class XII.
3. HANUMAN PARK
This park was established about 65 years back. At that time, a park in Rajasthan was a rarity because of shortage of water. At present hundreds of people enjoy the scenic atmosphere of the park every day. This park also holds many functions every year.
4. HAUNMAN SAGAR KOOP
In olden days, there was no water supply or any arrangements for septic tanks. As such people had to go into jungles or on sand dunes outside the town for their nature call. In order to facilitate the above, a well was constructed on the outskirts of the city which had the following facilities:
a) About 60 lotas (brass mugs) were kept ready for the public i.e. to be used for their nature call. b) To supply water for drinking, hand-washing, bathing etc. for the people of Ratangarh city and the villagers. Now this well is used to supply water for the villagers, park and Vyayamshala.
5. SOORAJMUL JALAN HOSPITAL
About 66 years back there were no proper medical facilities Late ShriSoorajmull Jalan donated this hospital for the use of the general public and there are about 300 beds with all the facilities. This is the Head Quarter of all hospitals in Churu district.
6. HANUMAN VASTU BHANDAR
This was established about 60 years back to supply essential utensils for the needy persons at the time of functions like marriages and for other occasions.
7. HANUMAN GOCHAR BHOOMI
In the year 1929, about 1000 bighas of land was acquired for the purpose of grazing of cows and also for supplying fodder to RatangarhGosala.
8. HANUMAN VYAYAMSALA
This is for use of the general public for doing all kinds of physical exercise and sportslike Volleyball, Badminton,Table Tennisetc.without any fee or charges. We also supply mustered oil and gram to the participants.
9. TOWER
This is a marble tower about 60 years old in the centre of the city having a chiming clock. The ground floor hall of this tower is utilized by the general public as a reading room, having all kinds of daily newspapers and magazines.
10. RAMCHANDRA SHIVALAYA
This Shivalaya is situated in the heart of the city and is a beautifully constructed architecture situated in Ramchandra Park, where thousands of devotees come every day.
11. SHREE HANUMAN AYURVEDIC AUSHADHALAYA
65 years back there was no proper medical facility. Feeling the need, we started anayurvedicaushadhalaya which was given for treatment of the general public and for preparation of genuineayurvedic medicines for the general public.
12. A PUBLIC BURNING GHAT
There was no proper public burning ghat and no facility for cremation of the dead bodies. As such we donated land with proper facilities required for cremation of the bodies.
13. AROGYA BHAVAN
Abuilding constructed for the general public for taking rest or staying at Ratangarh, free of cost.
14. HANUMAN SAROVAR
A full size swimming pool was constructed 30 years back and it is only-one of its kind in this area. It is regularly used by the general public for swimming. Regular swimming classes are held for learners. This pool is also used for district competitions and other functions.
15. JANKIDEVI BHAVAN
This is a building dedicated to the general public to be used for ceremonies such as marriages and other religious rituals and is situatedin the middle of the city.
16. RAMCHANDRA PARK
This is a park for general public and hundreds of people enjoy the scenic atmosphere of the park every day.
17. RAGHUNATH VIDYALAYA
This was established in the year 1913 to give education to boys. We donated a building in the name of Ramadevi to the School. At present there are more than 800 students who are reading in this school upto class XII, with all the three streams namely Commerce, Science and Arts.
18. RAMCHANDRA SAGAR KOOP
This is used for supplying water to general public, Ramachandrapark and Vyayamshala
19. TB Hospital
Seeing the need of proper treatment for T.B. patients, Late ShriMohanlal Jalan constructed this spacious building and donated the same with 20 beds for T.B. Patients.
20. BANSHIDHAR JALAN BOYS SCHOOL
This is a higher secondary school for general students from class VIII to class XII. As the government school buildings were in a dilapidated condition, a spacious building was constructed for the education of higher secondary school. At present about 800 boys are reading from class VIII to Xii in all the three streams.
21. ASHOK STAMBH
This was erected at the time of Independence in the year 1947. We erected the Ashok Stambh on the main road, near the railway station.
22. RAMADEVI SHIVALAYA
This shivalaya was constructed with a spacious garden for use of the general public in the name of Smt. Ramadevi who was cremated at this place.
23. MOHANLAL JALAN COLLEGE
The above is a co-education college and has all the three streams i.e. Commerce, Science and Arts.
Ratangarh College24. NAGARMULL BAJAORIA SCHOOL
In the above school boys are taking lessons. Due to dilapidated condition of the building a spacious new building is under construction, which would be handed over to the Government for running. For the time being the school has been shifted to RaghunathVidyalaya.
25. VILLAGE SCHOOLS
In the pre-independence days, we were running about 70/75 village schools all around Ratangarh i.e. in each of the small villages having a population of 100 to 300 people. After independence, this has been taken over by the Government.
26. OTHER ACTIVITIES
There are also some other institutions like free allopathic / homeopathic dispensary in the name of Marwari SahayakSamiti. Prinjrapoll Society, Dharmada Ki Dukan (to provide free essential goods required for cremation) and a number of other institutions, which are assisted by us.
