Hemant holds a Bachelors degree from St. Xaviers College and has been involved in business since 1978. His experiences and wisdom are the guiding force behind the business. He has served on the board of Warren Tea, Darjeeling Plantations and various other companies.
Director– Varun Jalan
The youngest addition to the management team joined the family business in 2015. He has been educated at the University of Pennsylvania where he completed a dual degree program - Bachelors of Science (Suma Cum Laude) in Finance And Accounting from the prestigious Wharton School along with a Bachelor of Arts (Magna Cum Laude) from the College of Arts and Sciences. He went on to obtain an MBA from the Indian School of Business in Hyderabad where he was selected for the prestigious Young Leader Award 2011. He brings to the table broad exposure and a strategic perspective given his two years with Oliver Wyman, a financial services strategy consulting firm in New York and three years strategy consulting with McKinsey & Co. in Mumbai. Varun is based out of Bangalore but commutes to Kolkata monthly and is actively looking into overall management.
Independent Director – Swapan Kumar Das
Swapan Kumar Das is born in Kolkata and has been an observer to the growth of the HK Jalan Group over the years. He lends years of experience in people management and operations to the company.About us
