The flagship company of the HKJalan Group has been incorporated in 1944. It is currently listed on the defunct Calcutta Stock Exchange under acronmym RAITRAD and code 28075. Today, it is a holding company with no significant physical assets and just shares of another group private limited company. The paid up capital of the company is 12.5 Lacs and the group is in the process of conversation with SEBI and CSE to complete the delisting process.

The Jalan family is a well reputed, traditional family business group with various business interests in India and abroad since the 1930’s. The group was founded by Late Soorajmull Jalan. A self made man who built an empire of jute mills and tea estates with an initially borrowed capital of Rs. 10,000.
