Hemant Kumar Jalan
Hemant Kumar Jalan holds a Bachelors degree from St. Xaviers College and has been involved in business since 1978. His experiences and wisdom are the guiding force behind the business. He has served on the board of Warren Tea, Darjeeling Plantations and various other companies.
Anushree Jalan
Anushree Jalan holds a Bachelors degree from Presidency College and interests revolve around languages. She is fluent in French, Portuguese and Italian. She has been teaching French for the last 20 years after receiving her diploma in 1989. She has been long associated with the Alliance Francaise and also was a teacher at Bangalore University. In 2008, she has been fine tuning her Portuguese pursuing certificate classes in Portugal.
Varun Jalan
The youngest addition to the management team joined the family business in 2015. He has been educated at the University of Pennsylvania where he completed a dual degree program - Bachelors of Science (Suma Cum Laude) in Finance And Accounting from the prestigious Wharton School along with a Bachelor of Arts (Magna Cum Laude) from the College of Arts and Sciences. He went on to obtain an MBA from the Indian School of Business in Hyderabad where he was selected for the prestigious Young Leader Award 2011. He brings to the table broad exposure and a strategic perspective given his two years with Oliver Wyman, a financial services strategy consulting firm in New York and three years strategy consulting with McKinsey & Co. in Mumbai. Varun is based out of Bangalore but commutes to Kolkata monthly and is actively looking into overall management.

The Jalan family is a well reputed, traditional family business group with various business interests in India and abroad since the 1930’s. The group was founded by Late Soorajmull Jalan. A self made man who built an empire of jute mills and tea estates with an initially borrowed capital of Rs. 10,000. Today his legacy lives on in the form of the not for profit “Seth Soorajmull Jalan Trust” which is dedicated to philanthropy. The charity work done by the trust has far reaching impact and is active in funding and running numerous temples, hospitals, dharamshalas and colleges.
